About Me
I earned my B.A. at William Jewell College with majors in History and Psychology. After graduation, I moved to South Korea and taught English Language to Korean elementary and middle school students. I returned to Fort Collins where I earned my M.A. in History at Colorado State University. My major area of focus was frontier America and slavery history and my minor focus was modern Chinese, Korean, and Korean-American history.
I began my teaching career at STEM School and Academy in Highlands Ranch, CO. There, I taught grades 6-12 in a variety of different Social Studies classes, including United States History, AP/CE United States History, Psychology, and Civics. After three years at STEM, I was given the opportunity to transition to Denver Public Schools at Hill Campus of Arts and Sciences. For two years there, I taught 7th and 8th grade Social Studies. I'm excited to be at South now where I will be teaching AVID, World Geography, and World History.
